Early life
Megan is a Southern Illinois native. She grew up in Pope and Williamson Counties. She graduated from Herrin High School and continued her education at John A. Logan College and Southern Illinois University. In 2009, she graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Law. Megan is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and in Federal Court in the Southern District of Illinois.
professional life
Megan is very active in her local and state legal community. Locally, she is a member of the Williamson County Bar Association, Jackson County Bar Association, and serves on the Planning Committee for the Joint CLE Program the two bar associations produce. At the state level, she is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association. She was selected to serve on the ISBA Tort Law Section Council and has remained a Section Council Member since 2018. Additionally, she serves as an Assembly Member representing the First Judicial Circuit in the ISBA Assembly, the supreme policy making body of the Association. Megan also serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of Dispute Resolution Institute, Inc., a not-for-profit organization.
Megan has been recognized by Leading Lawyers as an Emerging Lawyer for 2021. The distinction of being an Emerging Lawyer has been earned by fewer than 2% of all lawyers licensed to practice in Illinois. All Emerging Lawyers are 40 years of age or younger or have been practicing law for 10 or fewer years. Emerging Lawyers are recommended by their peers and this distinction cannot be purchased. She is honored to have received this recognition each year since 2015.
